Is it OK to workout with stitches?
Avoid vigorous physical activity while the stitches are in place – this includes heavy lifting, running, and other sporting activities. Avoid activities that pull or stretch on the area with stitches. Do not put the stitches completely under water – this means no swimming and no bathing in a bath.
How many days after stitches can you exercise?
Activity. For the first few days, try not to bump or knock your wound. Depending on where your wound is, you may need to avoid strenuous exercise for 2 weeks after the procedure or until your doctor says it is okay.

- Stop running and stretch your stomach. Carrying out some small stretching exercises in your upper body will enable you to relax your diaphragm and abdominal cavity and help to alleviate pain.

Is getting a stitch good for you?

It’s important not to scratch your stitches; even though they’re strong, scratching may damage them. You should avoid contact sports, such as football or hockey, to give your wound the best possible chance to heal. You should not go swimming until your wound has healed and your stitches have been removed.
Can stitches get wet?
After 48 hours, surgical wounds can get wet without increasing the risk of infection. After this time, you can get your stitches wet briefly with a light spray (such as in the shower), but they should not be soaked (for example, in the bath). Make sure you pat the area dry afterwards.
How long does a stitch last?
In lab experiments, stitches generally disappeared 45 seconds to two minutes after stopping activity. Some people can still feel sore a couple of days later though.
